Please Note: Internships are UNPAID and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Course Credit is available. Resume and Cover Letter are required. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred) and good character. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL DURING THE TIME OF THIS INTERNSHIP). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program. Only J1 or F1 visas will be accepted. Deadline to apply for Spring Internships is December 11th 2009. Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Department:
CNN Newsroom, Monday through Friday 9a-4p Atlanta-based newscast production.

Internship Description:
TV/Web Integration Intern – works directly with the CNN Newsroom Supervising Producer and show teams. Intern will learn to produce CNN Newsroom blog (www.cnn.com/newsroom), iReports (user generated content, ireport.com) and viewer phone calls. Intern will also assist in monitoring social networks/media sites (twitter/Facebook/myspace/Skype/etc). These elements will be produced for the CNN Newsroom programs and could be segments or working with a TV/Web reporter.
Intern will learn skills involved with rundown production, newscast scripting and media.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the cutting edge of TV Newscast production and audience engagement/participation.

Looking for an intern that could work M-F, 6a-3p shift.

The day starts by attending show team meetings 6a/7a/8a then assisting with TV/web elements.

Required Qualifications/Skills: Blog production skills (CMS or wordpress)
Newscast writing basics
Video production knowledge
Social Media/Networking access
