Please Note: Internships are UNPAID and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Program dates are 02/01/2010 – 04/23/2010. Course Credit is available. Resume and Cover Letter are required. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred) and good character. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL DURING THE TIME OF THIS INTERNSHIP). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program. Only J1 or F1 visas will be accepted. Deadline to apply for Spring Internships is December 11th 2009. Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Future semester Internship postings will be available after the current semester deadline.

The iReport.com editorial team is an extension of CNN.com, helping lead and shape CNN’s news user-generated content, participatory media and community efforts online and across CNN platforms.

Internship Description:
Students may have an opportunity to observe and train in a number of functions including producing, writing, and editing. Assisting in the research and day to day tasks of online news production. In addition, the student may have the opportunity to train with photojournalists, video editors, and accompany producers on video shoots to gain exposure to field/Studio producing.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
***Very Important*** Candidates for the iReport.com internship MUST BE iReport contributors, with preference given to those with iReport material used on CNN.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of digital storytelling techniques, including video, photography, and sound recording. Candidate should be seeking a career in new media production. Should be self-motivated, able to multi-task, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in an environment with short deadlines and quick turnaround projects. Understanding of web technologies, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Photoshop a plus.
