Reporting to the EVP&GM, CSN/NECN, the Vice President/Station Manager will manage the day-to-day operations and drive the growth of New England Cable News. This position is responsible for increasing viewership, improving the on-air look and establishing the brand of the network that has become a destination for New England news viewers.

Currently, we are seeking the ideal candidate to perform the following responsibilities:

Responsible for the day-to-day management and development of short and long term objectives for New England Cable News, including oversight of the programming and production functions as well as creative services and administration functions that support the network to ensure the attainment of profit and operational goals
Strategically work with Comcast Sports Group sales team (Distribution and Advertising) to anticipate challenges and opportunities, to position the network and leverage value proposition, and to achieve distribution and national ad revenue goals
Project and manage expenses and forecast revenues to meet annual budget goals; accountable for profit/loss results and the attainment of current and long-range objectives for the networks
Represent the networks as a respected public figure in the business community
Foster positive and productive relationships with agents, program suppliers, press, etc.
Continue cultivation and future growth of brand at a critical juncture in its emergence as a compelling sports destination.
Continue to improve the network's program offerings through aggregating quality news properties, developing new unique original series concepts and pursuing excellence in production.
Leverage content to create new media business opportunities for news users online, on demand and on handheld mobile devices.
Work within the company's strategic and policy framework, execute business policies and operating plans, communicate strategic direction to direct reports.
Perform periodic performance reviews to determine employee eligibility for, among other things, merit increases, bonuses and promotional and transfer opportunities.
Interview, evaluate, hire, lay-off, promote and reward employees and/or applicants or effectively recommend such actions
Provide feedback, coaching and disciplinary action (up to and including termination or discharge of employment) to employees, or effectively recommend such actions, to help improve employee performance
Address and resolve employee concerns and grievances
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance


Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred. Extensive, directly related experience and self study may be considered in lieu of degrees
10 + years related experience in the network management w/background in sports required
7+ years senior leadership experience including 5 years in executive capacity
Established network of contacts and relationships within the news business community.
Current working knowledge of telecommunications industry and regulatory climate
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent executive-level presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel as necessary
Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities a must
Ability to work non-traditional hours, weekends & holidays
Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
