The Software Engineer is responsible for one or more service areas and will be expected to have the technical expertise as well as the necessary people skills to implement and effectively develop a broad range of software functionality, in a hands on capacity. The responsibilities range from requirements gathering, analysis and implementation of best practices solutions tailored to the organizations unique needs.


-Partner with product managers, operations staff and other s/w engineers to identify and analyzes requirements; designs and develops software applications in web deployed applications
-Provide software development expertise in developing a cross-platform service delivery platform for Comcast
-Documents system requirements; develops resource and time estimates and communicates them to the team
-Interacts with end users to gather requirements and scope the systems
-Participates in unit, integration, and system test procedures
-Document final program and develop user instructions, software/hardware requirements, program input /outputs and execution /installation steps
-Interacts with architects, operations staff and end users to gather requirements and scope the system


Required Skills:
-Significant experience in analyzing requirements, designing, and or implementing solutions for medium to very-large scale, consumer-oriented web applications
-Significant experience developing media player (WinMedia, Flash, Silverlight) in Flex, Flex-Java, Flex-PHP
-Knowledge of digital video technologies (Flash, Silverlight, Windows Media) and associated delivery options (Streaming, Progressive Download)
-Experience with Java application servers and J2EE containers (Weblogic, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, etc)
-Proven experience building and managing a technical QA Engineering team
-Experience with Web-based technologies (HTTP, JSP, SERVLETS, XML/SOAP, XSLT)
-Strong ability to successfully drive and execute work in a dynamic environment
-Good leadership and communications skills
