Summary:

This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing scripts/applications to perform routine automated audit of devices in production network and the labs. This individual will support development and upkeep of automation tools to support routine network audit tasks. Also responsible for designing and developing an Operations Scorecard/Dashboard/Reports containing critical KPIs to be used by senior management. Dashboard will contain internal business metrics as well as customer/supplier scorecards for the Operations organization

Responsibilities:

Design, create and implement tools, portals, and scripts required to enhance data entry and reporting experience associated with change and
audit activities

Develop, maintain, and execute applications for routine audit of production network devices including out-of-band device access, configuration management, network redundancy practices, OS and Application version conformity, system threshold setups, data sanity of various OSS tools, and other areas impacting successful delivery of IP services with an aim of automating most of the audit tasks

Support development, implementation, and maintenance of procedure and processes related to network device audits by working with Infrastructure Services, Network Operations, Deployment, Engineering, OSS/BSS/IT and other groups

Develop and provide audit reports to Service Desks and other support areas

Maintain, upkeep all related documentation on NE&TO Intranet site/SharePoint/UCM/Wiki/Public drive as appropriate

Support development and publication of training material including providing training to users/stakeholders on tools/reports developed by AAA team (as needed)

Required Skills:
Qualifications:

At least 2 years hands-on experience with shell scripting (Korn, Bash shell, Perl, etc.), TCL scripting (i.e., Expect), Web scripting (server), HTML,XML, PHP

2 to 3 years hands-on experience with software development in VBA, C#, .Net and strong knowledge of relational database design and SQL or Oracle

Experience with web interface authoring through both PHP and ASP .NET, including CSS, JavaScript and XHTML

1 to 2 years hands-on experience in Telecommunications, Operations, or Engineering field

Experience writing test scripts

Good basic understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite (e.g. ARP, IP, TCP, DNS, UDP, and SNMP)

Familiar with the use of both Windows and Unix/Linux operation systems, including experience with common TCP/IP testing tools (tcpdump, ping, and traceroute)

Broad knowledge of various types of network equipment, routers & switches (3550, 6509/7609, 12000, etc), servers, transport gear, CMTS (Cisco uBR, Arris C4, and Motorola BSR), and other related network and OSP equipment. Familiarity with Packetcable & DOCSIS specs is a plus

Knowledge of the architecture and design of advanced IP-based telecommunications services (VoIP, multi-media instant messaging, presence, unified messaging, and video communications) is a plus

Experience supporting a NOC operation including OSS tool (e.g., NetCool, Spectrum, Cramer, SevOne, Auspice, Remedy etc.) verification, detailed design documentation, etc

Creative, self-motivated team player willing to take the lead to develop cutting-edge solutions

Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational ability

Excellent oral/written communication and inter-personal skills

Education:

BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or other closely related technical discipline


Possession of industry recognized certifications is a plus
